Archery

Post by JohnSR »

Was getting bored around here so thought I would try something new. Was always interested in archery so went out and bought a complete setup. Am finding that I need to build up certain muscles to do this right. Have been shooting 100 arrows a day for the last week and can tell a difference in my shot group. The arrows in the target was was shot at 20 meters. When I get the group tighter will move back to 30 meters. At 71 years old, it is fun learning something new.

I am enjoying trying to learn how to shoot the thing. Was figuring how fast the arrow goes. The bow has a 50 pound pull so according to the manuel, the arrow should leave the bow at 305 fps. Doing some figuring, that would be 305X60=18300 fpm or 18300X60=1098000/5280=207.95 mph. Heck ole Sparkey can go this fast on his bike. Just think Sparkey, if you were going full bore and I shot an arrow, you could just reach out and grab it. :o
