New Computer

Post by jon.oman »

I'm having a new computer built for me from TigerDirect.com. The main features are a follows:

Intel Core i7 processor
Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1
16GB of ram
Raid 1 mirror of two 1.5TB SATA drives

I've been having problems with my six year old PC that I built. When the new system arrives, I will transfer my images and Photoshop CS5 to it, and then wipe the old computer clean. After that, I will reinstall WinXP on the old computer from scratch. Over the years, I have had to repair the operating system on the old computer at least four times. It is time for a complete refresh! I will continue to use the old computer for program development, and for surfing the web. The new computer will be used for image processing and image storage.

I sure like my I-7 computer. If you use any of the Nikon software, think you will be surprised how much faster it is.

I bought the first version of the Nikon software. Too slow and clunky! I never did go to the newer version when it came out. The box is collecting dust!

I'm looking forward to some speed improvement! The files I have been processing are just getting bigger and bigger!

You may want to try those Nikon programs again when you get the I-7,
