I figure that costs me about 9.5 cents each. If I bought Kodak or Ilford, it would cost about $1.50 a sheet. I will wait to process it, since I plan on going out with my 8x10 inch pinhole camera either tomorrow or Friday. The big thing about the cut down 4x5 film is that it is easy to scratch. So, yesterday was a test to see if I could cut down the 8x10 inch film for 4x5 without too much scratching. I may have to try a few different ways to cut it down before I find some way to reduce or hopefully eliminate the scratching. A cost of 9.5 cents a sheet is just too attractive!
I have tried to cut down 12 inch aerial color film with no luck. just couldn't get the cuts straight. I remember in Nam we had a cutter that was designed for cutting 4X5 film from IR stock. Never used it though. That was privates work. :D :D

I have some 1/4 inch flat PVC stock. I cut two templates. One to use in cutting the 8x10 inch into two 4x10 inch pieces, and one to use to cut the final 4x5 size. I used the templates as a guide, and a single edged razor blade. The final sheet of 4x5 film was nice and straight, and fit nicely into the film holders. The only thing I'm worried about is any scratching of the two sided emulsion.

I got out with the infrared D2x today. The 8x10 inch pinhole may see some use in the next few days.

I finally tested my cut down x-ray film. It worked!

Here is a link to the test images:

I also did a few pinhole images. The exposures were a bit off on these.

Here they are:
